The Village of Maple Park, Illinois seeks a part-time Village Clerk to work with Village Administrator, Village Board, and Planning Commission to prepare agendas, packets, minutes and post public notices. The Village Clerk serves as the Village’s Freedom of Information Act Officer and is responsible for maintaining municipal records. Position is also responsible for general office duties, including water bill acceptance, vehicle sticker processing, updating the Village’s web site, coordination of room/facility rentals, assists the Public Works Director/Building Inspector with the building permit process and other duties as assigned.
Weekly hours for the position vary, with the maximum hours being 30 per week.
High school diploma required, prefer Associates Degree; one (1) to three (3) years of experience in municipal government extremely helpful. Municipal Clerk certification preferred. Must be able to pass a background check, drug and alcohol screen, and have a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Notary Public is a plus.
