Village of Maple Park

Cub Scout Pack 107 held its annual Pinewood Derby race on Sunday, February 15^th.   This year they invited the Maple Park Police Department along with Maple Park Fire Protection District, the Elburn Police Department, Elburn Fire Protection District and Elburn Public Works to design a car and compete as well in a fun spirited competition.   The Maple Park Police Departments entry to the race was designed a built by Commander James Olsen.  Though the fastest car on the Pinewood Derby track was that of the Elburn Police Department, all participants had fun and enjoyed supporting Cub Scout Pack 107.

Ofc. Jason Richmeier has been nominated for consideration of recognition as the Kane County Officer of the Year.   The Kane County Officer of the Year recognition is an awards recognition hosted by the Kane County Chiefs of Police Association. All law enforcement agencies with Kane County are eligible to submit a nomination.   Ofc. Richmeier has been nominated for this award by Chief Randy Endean.  Chief Endean has stated in his nomination that, “ Jason has proven to be an invaluable asset to the Maple Park Police Department and the community of Maple Park.  Jason Richmeier demonstrates and expresses his pride in being a police officer and a member of the Maple Park Police Department.”

The nomination of Ofc. Richmeier was submitted with supporting letter from Maple Park Police Commander James Olsen, Village Administrator Cheryl Aldridge and Maple Park Fire Protection District Chief Ted Peterson.

The winner of the award will be selected on March 5, 2026.

• What’s Accepted: Most household batteries, including lithium-primary, NiCad, and alkaline, as well as many electronics.
• Preparation: Always tape battery terminals with non-conductive tape (like electrical tape) before disposal to prevent sparks.

Using specialized collection ensures that valuable minerals are safely recovered and repurposed into new products.

Pursuant to the Amendment to the Municipal Solid Waste, Recycling and Yard Waste Agreement between the Village of Maple Park and Waste Management, an annual rate adjustment is scheduled for February 1, 2026.

Effective February 1, 2026 the new monthly rates for service will be:

Monthly Senior Rate            $25.16
