| GOLF CART & LOW-SPEED VEHICLE REGISTRATION |
Thank you for registering your golf cart or low-speed vehicle with the Village of Maple Park. The information below outlines applicable operational requirements and restrictions. Compliance is required to ensure public safety and lawful operation within the village.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
- Operators must possess a valid driver’s license
- All Illinois Vehicle Code provisions and Village of Maple Park traffic ordinances apply
- Operating a golf cart/low- speed vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will be enforced, including violations involving open alcoholic containers
CHILD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- All children under the age of 13-years must be properly secured with a seat belt while in operation. Children unable to sit upright independently must be secured in an appropriate child safety seat, in accordance with state law
AUTHORIZED AREAS OF OPERATION
- Sidewalk use is permitted only along County Line Road, from just south of Ashton Drive to Willow Street
- Operators must always yield the right-of-way to pedestrians
- Operation on all other sidewalks within the village is strictly prohibited
- Golf carts may be operated within parks while yielding to pedestrians; low-speed vehicles are limited to paved surfaces and gravel paths
- Operation on playgrounds and ballfields is prohibited
NOTICE OF ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY
- The Village of Maple Park reserves the right to suspend or revoke any issued permit upon determination that ordinance provisions have been violated or that the golf cart/low-speed vehicle has been operated in an unsafe manner
