​ We stand together as a community with Highland Park and the tragedy that they suffered today. On a day that should have been about family and celebrating our country, we instead saw senseless violence that will forever scar our lives. This is a time that we need to band together to stop this violence and to heal as a community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that lost a loved one. A special thanks to the members of law enforcement that put themselves in harms way to protect others and to get this suspect in custody. 

Our hearts are heavy as we stand in support and solidarity with the community of Highland Park following today’s violence during the Independence Day parade.
Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, are injured, and traumatized by yet another disturbing act of violence. Whether you are directly impacted or you are struggling to make sense of the senseless, you are not alone.
Know the signs and don’t hesitate to take action.
Resources for Mental Health Crises and Emotional Support:
Disaster Distress Helpline is available 24/7 at 1-800-985-5990: Spanish-speakers should press ‘2’ for 24/7 bilingual support. Calls are answered by staff who are trained in helping people through large traumatic scale events including mass shootings.

The Illinois Warm Line is available for caring support for mental health and/or substance use challenges at 866-359-7953. Monday-Friday 8 to 5, except holidays.
The National Association of School Psychologists offers practical tips for educators and parents in talking to children about violence, starting with reassuring youth that they are safe in this moment.​

Televising Update – 06/17/22

SANITARY SEWER PROGRESS MAP

AS OF FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2022

 

Sanitary sewer mains highlighted in pink have been completed.

Next week, they will finish the sanitary sewers and then there will be two (2) trucks that will be cleaning, televising and inspecting the storm sewers.  Anticipate the field work will be completed by June 30, 2022.

Televising Project – Update

TELEVISING PROJECT UPDATE JUNE 10, 2022

 

The Village’s contractor, Visu-Sewer, is in the process of cleaning, inspecting and televising the sanitary sewers.  All the sewer mains highlighted in yellow have been cleaned, inspected and televised.  Visu-Sewer plans to finish Work Area #2 on Monday, June 13, 2022 and then move into Work Area #1.  The Village will be placing Resident Information Bulletins on the doors of the homes in Work Area #1 on Monday.

 

Once all the sanitary sewers have been cleaned, inspected and televised, Visu-Sewer will then do the same to the storm sewer system in Work Areas #1 and #2.  We’ll send out additional Resident Information Bulletins to keep residents informed of the status of this project.

 

If there are any problems as the work is being completed, please do not hesitate to speak with the crew on the street, they are experienced in this process and happy to assist if a problem arises.  As always, you can contact the Village office at (815) 827-3309 if needed.

 

 

Poisonous Hemlock at Memorial Park

ATTENTION MAPLE PARK RESIDENTS:

Please be aware that Maple Park staff has found that there is POISONOUS HEMLOCK located along the tree line at Memorial Park in Heritage Hills. Please use caution and stay away from the tree line. Staff is working with a commercial company to have the area sprayed. Until then, please be aware and stay away from the area.
