What is LGDF?

What is LGDF? Rather than collect a local income tax to fund municipal budgets, the State agreed in 1969 to return 10% of the money collected from our cities, towns and villages – the Local Government Distributive Fund. Despite more than 50 years of precedent, the state is now drastically reducing the amount returned to local communities, and using those dollars to plug its own budget holes. Springfield shouldn’t take local money to solve its problems. #RestoreLGDF
